Welcome to my site! My name is Tamara Emery and I am a qualified Solution Focused hypnotherapist and psychotherapist, having gained my diploma at Trinity University, Leeds. Originally from the North Cornish coast (via London and Kent), I now live in Leeds with my beloved and gorgeously scruffy dog, Busby.

Living and coping with a chronic pain condition called CRPS (Complex Regional Pain Sydrome) since 2008 – and having had spinal cord stimulation surgery, with electrodes being implanted to help with the pain levels – I can completely understand and empathise not only with how it feels to live with debilitating pain (both chronic and acute), but also how easy it can be to sink into depression and despair, as well as suffer from anxiety and habitual patterns of negative thinking.

Coming through the other side of such a traumatic time, I feel I have a real understanding for those who are suffering, and know how important it can be to have someone there to support you and help you through it. The added bonus, of course, is that I can also explain the neuroscience behind those behaviour and thought processes, giving you the tools to be able to cope better, while helping to decrease those anxious, angry, depressed or obsessional feelings.

I have always done my best to run a gentle, compassionate but straight-talking therapy, which is always led by the client and their needs. Because Solution Focused Hypnotherapy is a positive therapy, my sessions are as relaxed, light-hearted and informative as possible, allowing the client to make the sessions exactly what they want or need them to be. In short, I like my clients to leave feeling better than when they arrived!
